So why not me? Really, I just want to bitch at the world about my bullshit personal problems at least once. I never do it (or have not to my recollection), so if you're not going to tolerate my one go at it, fucking shoo.


Right, anyone who's been following the personal drama of my life for the last two years (almost no one, since I don't bawwww that often, as I've noted) would know that I've been on a sabbatical from university due to pretty damned extreme family crisis situation (we're talking "parent being told they have a terminal, incurable illness and half a decade to die from it" stuff). This is all while my father has been in and out of the country, so someone sort of had to step up, and since I wasn't the income source for the family, hey, I took time off from school.

This was while I was a sophomore, it's right at two years later, and most of my friends were actually further along in college than I was. There's some pretty basic math that suggests the fail going on.

Now that I'm back, yeah, I only have two years left, but I know no one, I have no contacts, and honestly, I've forgotten how to meet people to begin with. It was easy when I lived in the dorms and had to be active in freshman bullshit, now, there's not that manner of easily-available socialisation open to me and... Well, it's obvious where this is going.

I went from being a damned social guy who could talk to anyone with a pretty unfailing about of balls when it came to walking up and doing the meet-and-greet to being uniquely alone. This is hardly the first time I've been "alone", but for the first time in my life, I am genuinely lonely.


And that's my bitching at the world. For the record, I'm posting this largely to just get my feelings out there on the internets, not mooch for pity. Yes, those can be different things.
